Our Methodology

At Español con Patacón, we believe that learning a language should never feel like an obligation or a constant test.

It should feel like a safe, calm, and inspiring space, where speaking Spanish is possible from day one, without pressure and without fear.

Our methodology is built on three core pillars: confidence, adaptability, and real communication.
From the very first lesson, students begin speaking Spanish at their own pace. We don’t force, we don’t rush, and we don’t follow rigid formulas. Every class has a clear structure, yet it feels natural and fluid often like talking to a friend until suddenly, without realizing it, the student has been speaking structured Spanish the entire time.

Classes are relaxed, highly conversational, and designed to make students feel comfortable and at ease. That moment of “ohhh, now I get it” happens often, because learning comes from real understanding, not memorization.

Storytelling as a core method

One of the key differentiators of Español con Patacón is the use of Storytelling as a central teaching method.

We work with simple, practical stories for beginner students and more complex, challenging narratives for advanced learners. This approach allows students to immerse themselves in the language naturally and start speaking from day one, without overthinking or translating everything in their heads.

Stories bring Spanish to life. They make the language meaningful, contextual, and memorable, creating a natural immersion that accelerates oral expression.

Grammar: always present, never intimidating

Grammar is always part of our lessons, but the approach changes depending on each student.
For some, it’s explicit and analytical; for others, it’s more intuitive and implicit. The goal is not to overwhelm with complex terminology, but to help students understand, recognize, and use structures naturally in conversation.

The final objective is not to speak “perfect” Spanish, but to communicate in a way that is clear, natural, and appropriate for real-life interaction.

Personalized classes with meaningful topics

Lesson topics are adapted to each student’s real interests, because when we talk about what we truly enjoy, words appear almost effortlessly.

Identifying those interests is a key part of the process and helps build confidence and fluency.

For students who prefer full guidance and structure, we also offer a wide variety of pre-designed lessons that immerse them in realistic situations from everyday conversations to more complex ideas and discussions.
